I noticed that there has not been any new leads for a few days on your
question. So, I thought I would mention something that might form a
solution for you.

The Gentleman Door system that redhoss-ga suggested uses X-10 controls
to control the operation of the opener. X-10 is a manufacturer of
remote control equipment. In this particular case, you can easily
order a surface-mount transmitter that looks like a wallswitch, and
set it to operate the pocket door. You can order two, one for each
side of the wall that the pocket door is installed in.

Is this something that you would like to know more about?

Thank you for your question regarding suppliers of push-button
operated electric sliding pocket doors.

To expand on the Gentleman Door option mentioned by redhoss-ga, as
described on the TerryCo website, you can easily add push-button
convenience to it through the X-10 controls that are used with the
system.

The link for the system, as provided by redhoss-ga:

http://www.weopendoors4u.com/Window.html

The link for X-10 surface-mount wall switch transmitters that would be
compatible with the Gentleman Door solution above:

X-10 Slimline Wall Switch SS13A
http://www.x10.com/automation/x10_ss13a.htm

X-10 Wireless Transceiver TM751
http://www.x10.com/automation/x10_tm751.htm

The SS13A wireless transmitter(s) work with the wireless transceiver
to control any X-10 enabled device in your home. At the risk of
sounding like a sales pitch, I personally like using their motion
detector transmitters to automatically turn on the lights in an other
dark area of my home in the evenings whenever I enter the room... and
to turn off those lights when I leave.

I hope you find this information useful!

Ray,

I'm not sure anyone makes what you are looking for, but, if you have
cable or satellite, I would suggest watching Monster House, or
visiting their website
http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/monsterhouse/monsterhouse.html.

They are always making doors that move at the push of a button and
stuff like that. If you are lucky enough to live near LA or Las
Vegas, the show also lists the builders for each show.

Of the shows I've seen, the one's with a concepts similar to an
electric pocket door (i.e., sliding panels or doors) would be: the
Retro Future house, Hacienda House.

The Old West House and the 70s house have moving things, but these use
a garage door opener for their features.

This might give you some ideas for contractor resources for your project.

best,

celia
