Question ID: 290430
Trying to find this pic of Saddam from his capture in as high quality
a version as possible:

http://www.tshirthell.com/saddam.jpg

It's been circulating on every newspaper and website, but we cannot
seem to find a nice large high quality version of it. Doesn't matter
whether it is black or white or color. We need to use it in a private
presentation.

(looking for at least 500 pixels tall..and crisp quality, but may be
happy if something close is found)

Thank you
Aaron

The picture you are looking for appears to be a still photo taken off
a television video feed. Under those conditions, pictures are
generally not available in high resolution.

There are several high quality still photgraphs of Saddam after his
capture (with and without his beard) that ARE available in farirly
high resolution format. A good example is the one used on the recent
cover of TIME magazine:

Would these be of interest as an answer to your question?

This is the best I can do:

http://editorial.gettyimages.com/source/CFW/imageResults.aspx?s=ImagesSearchState|0|15|0|1|12%2f27%2f2003|11%2f26%2f2003|0|0|0|0|1|2809859

Click on the link that says:

Image # 2809859

to see an enlarged version of the picture.

Best of luck.

That won't work because of the watermark in the middle of the picture.

Can someone else try to find a better version or is this question now dead?

My apologies, I should have been clearer. The watermark is removed
after rights to use the picture are purchased from Getty Images.

If you want to obtain the rights to the picture, click on the
"download" link, and it will take you to the beginning of the
registration process at Getty. Once you're registered, you will
receive informatin on how to purcahse rights to the picture -- prices
are highly varied depending on the image, and the intended use.

The same picture is likely available from other image services as well.

I should also make clear that the photo used on the cover of TIME is
also available without the TIME wording on it...and it's free, to
boot.

We are not looking for a photo to purchase from Getty Images. If you
can find one from the web, that's great..if not...thanks for trying.
