Is there a website for the Orange County, California Assessors office
where public can access Residential Property information e.g. square
footage, year property built, last sales price. The Los Angeles
County Assessors has a site like this. Please help. Thanks.

wing-ga:

The Orange County Assessor's office does not provide an online service
similar to the LA County Assessor's leading-edge application for
accessing property-related information. There is a possibility that
they may be offering a similar system in the future (as the LA County
solution was developed using off-the-shelf applications from ESRI),
but there are no indications that it will be any time soon.

Depending on the exact information you are looking for, it may still
be possible to find it through the Orange County Tax Collector's
office. They provide the ability to search for the most recent tax
bill for any address in the County. At the time of this post, the
service appears to be down; however, if you can tell me whether there
is any information in particular you are looking for, it may be
possible to find that info on the tax bill database.

Thanks. I a particularly interested in finding the square footage and
last sales price of residential properties in Orange County, CA for
researching investment opportunities in Real Estate.

Can you walk me through how to access the 'tax bill' database through
the Orange County tax collectors office you mentioned?

THANKS

Unfortunately, it appears that the Tax Collector's database is either
still down, or my ability to access it through my ISP has been broken
(no response from server).

Your results may vary, so please try going to http://tax.ocgov.com. If
the site is working for you, you should get a search form, where you
can enter the address of the property in question. This will search
the database for information related to the current tax bill for the
property. What I have not been able to confirm for you due to not
being able to access the database, is whether that bill contains the
information that you are seeking.

If I am able to access the database on Monday, I will post what I find.

I was able to access the Orange County Tax Collector's Office database
today, but unfortunately it does not provide the information you are
seeking. The only information that it does provide is the current
amount of property tax payable, and the most recent assessed value of
the land and improvements.
