Hello,

Funny I should stumble across this question. I happen to be employed
by a firm that has recently developed a product similar to the one you
need. As a result, I don't have the details of a search strategy to
provide for you. Just some bad news and then possibly some good news.

First, the bad news. To answer your inquiry directly, I can tell you
that no such product exists. Several companies, such as Primaplan
(with a product called Flint), have attempted to solve the problem of
data integration between SAP and a third-party scheduling tool and not
been very succesful. Impress (
http://www.impress.com/english/index.html ) is in the midst of
developing a middleware product that will presumably do this very
thing. But the product is not yet available.

There may be some good news, however. TCR, the firm I work for, has
currently available a product called "psXchange" (
http://www.theconsultantsregistry.com/products ) that allows data to
be moved quickly and easily from SAP's PS module (which I assume you
are using for project data) to Primaver Project Planner and back.
This solution is highly customizable, though it has not been tested
for migration into MS Project. It also comes at a negotiable cost of
$10,000 per license. The Impress solution will several times that.
psXchange is truly the most affordable option.

psXchange is essentially a plug-in, of sorts. It runs entirely within
SAP and has a very small footprint. It is not a middleware product,
which would require additional training. Anyone who is familiar with
the PS modules selections screens should be able to run psXchange
almost immediately.

My best advice is to contact lbailey@theconsultantsregistry.com and
provide some details on your issue. He will then be able to speak to
the product's developers directly to inquire about its ability to work
with MS Project.

I hope I have helped. Thanks for your question and have a great day.

What I want is to know if there are any commercial available products
that do this. If you know the product, send me a link and you are 5
bucks richer...

Update:

The fim I spoke about has since released a version of the software
that will work with MS Project. If you haven't found a method yet,
now would probably be a good time to contact them.
