You could probably create this functionality with a macro. Here's how I imagine it working: 1: Enter and select the text that is to be the hyper-link to a new subsidiary document. 2: Invoke your macro, which: 3: Inserts a new bookmark in your existing document corresponding to the selected text 4: Stores the name of the current document and bookmark name in a variable 5: Prompts for the name of a subsidiary file 6: Creates the file 7: Inserts a "Back" hyperlink to the document/bookmark it had stored 8: Saves the document 9: Switches back to the parent document 10: Creates a hyperlink (coinciding with the bookmark) to the new document |

Yes, this is true. I was hoping someone had done all this and perhaps more already, and had it available somewhere as a product or otherwise. I don't know VBA/Word and don't have time to learn it. |
