mrmatt-ga:
Google's database is updated on a regular basis by 'bots that "crawl"
the web seeking new and updated content. In order for the 'bots
(automated programs) to know about your new website, they must either
come across a link to your new site on an existing site when they
"crawl" it looking for new content, or you can provide the URL of your
home page to Google so that the 'bots will know to take a look the
next time they are updating the database.
You can submit your URL here:
Given the size of the World Wide Web, you can probably appreciate how
busy the 'bots are, so even after you submit your home page it may
take some time for the 'bots to get there. As well, please read
carefully the information on the addurl.html page; Google does not
guarantee that adding your URL will get your website into the index,
it is on a best-efforts basis only.
Another possibility to consider using is the Google AdWords service, a
paid service that allows your URL and description to be displayed
whenever specific words are searched for through the Google search
engine.
