I am trying to get my Sony DCR-PC7 (one of the first DV cameras on the
market) to work with my Windows XP computer. When I had Windows 98SE
I had no problem capturing video using ULead Studio. Now I've tried
several hours to get it to capture my kids videos to transfer to on
DVD and my computer won't recognize. Internet search suggests it
can't be done... can you help?

shockdoc-ga:

According to Microsoft's list of supported video camcorders, the Sony
DCR-PC7 is indeed supported through a FireWire (i1394) connection:

You can find a useful set of links to digital video support articles here:

In particular, you may want to review the following articles:

May I ask if you are using ULead Studio in Windows XP as well? If so,
which version? Have you tried Windows Movie Maker?

Thanks,
