dingdong22-ga: Depending on where the shipment currently is (ie. which port of entry), you should be able to clear it through customs yourself. If you happen to be at the port of entry, DHL can provide you with the paperwork from the shipper listing the item(s) and estimated value. You can take this to Customs yourself, stand in line, and have the shipment rated and duties calculated. Once you've paid the duties and taxes (if any are applicable), you get the necessary stamps and copies of paperwork to bring back to DHL, who can then release the shipment to you. If you are not located at the port of entry, then please provide that information so that a Researcher can find an appropriate broker to help you. Regards, aht-ga Google Answers Researcher |

If it's DHL Canada, then typically they provide the paperwork to Canada Customs even before the package has physically arrived. That implies that the hold-up may be at Canada Customs due to the Christmas holidays, and not at DHL. If the package was shipped from New Zealand, it is most likely at DHL's bonded facility at Pearson International Airport. I assume you have already called them at 1-800-225-5345 (Within Canada) to find out the exact status; you may therefore wish to call them to find out if you can take over the customs work yourself, and if the package is indeed in Mississauga.
