I am interested in finding a number of songs (as many as possible)
which would be appropriate for using as background music on some
videos I am making. The two videos I am making are records of the year
for 1.  a pre-school class and 2.  a year 12 class.  Appropriate songs
should sort of be about growing up, staying young, being gorgeous etc.
 Both alternative and mainstream are ok and not too soppy. I already
have "sweetest thing", "forever young" and "deeper water".  Song
titles and artists needed, and if possible sites where I might listen
to samples.  thankyou

Hi Poppsy,

It would be helpful to Researchers if you could explain exactly what
kind of videos you're making.  For example, are your videos going to
be a single copy each for your personal use only?  If so, you're
probably ok using commercial music, and suggestions such as that given
by pinkfreud-ga below would be fine for you to consider.  However, if
you plan to sell your videos, or even distribute them for free to a
number of people, you really need to either 1)obtain official
permission from the appropriate source(s) for "synch rights" to the
music or 2)purchase "synch rights" to some other appropriate original
music from a source such as a commerical music library.

the videos i'm making are me learning to use my new dv.  the
pre-school one will be for myself (of my daughter's group) and the
year 12 one is to be shown to year 12 students i am teaching at an end
of year breakup.  is this ok?
