This isn't exactly what you are looking for but it is a shove in the right direction, I think: http://www.aoaonline.org/faq.htm A couple of questions: When you say "guide" do you mean some catalog of items that has appraised values for things that are similar to what you own? Because if that is the case...I'm relatively certain that you won't find anything that is that extensive online. Where I work we do many appraisals of antiques and collectibles and one little trick that might help you out would be search http://www.eBay.com to get an idea of what the market will bear on your items. Book values are all very well and good but generally not what you can actually sell something for. I would urge you to look into having your items professionally appraised, however. I'm unsure if you are going through a divorce, but if you are the best way to go about this (or at least the least likely to get messy way) is to hire an appraiser that will work for both parties and split the cost of the appraisal down the middle. Two separate appraisals can mean for much more time in a courtroom than is absolutely necessary. |
