Hi brainfloss,
Isopropyl Alcohol (available in most pharmacies) is the product of
choice for removing ink from leather.
ALCOHOL:
"You may read recommendations to use hair spray for ink removal. It
contains alcohol, which is the ingredient that removes the ink. The
other chemicals in hair spray could damage a fabric. Take caution
should you decide to use hair spray on a stain."
"Rubbing alcohol removes ink on all fabrics including leather. Allow
it to set 15 minutes."

ALCOHOL:
Rubbing alchohol will take out the ball point pen. Put it on a soft
cloth and rub gently.

ALCOHOL:
"I just tried the suggestion of using isopropyl alcohol and it WORKED.
This ball point pen ink was very stale - it had been there for a
number of months."

ETHANOL:
"I worked as a molecular biologist for years and learned that straight
up ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alc) will remove ink. I have
used it on other cars w/leather seats to remove pen stains, and it
didn't damage the seat at all. Still I would try it in a small area.
But I guarantee you if anything will remove the stain, ethanol will.
And it is way cheaper than anything else."

CUTICLE REMOVER:
"Cover ink and marker spots with nonoily cuticle remover -- not nail
polish remover. Let it sit overnight, then wipe off with a soft
cloth."
"For remaining spots, dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and treat
just the ink area by dabbing with the alcohol and cotton swab. Dab
with the dry end of the swab to blot up the ink. Try not to spread the
alcohol any more than necessary because it is drying to leather. Once
the mark is removed, wash the area with Dove soap."
