Hi,

I'm struggling as an affiliate without any success untill now.
Therefore I'm trying to find a product/service with no or little
competition in Google. However, it's hopeless : whatever I search for
in Google, even the rarest stuff, there are always millions of
results. In spite of little or no competition the product or service
should be popular, otherwise nobody will search for it. I use the
program Wordtracker.com to measure the popularity of
keywords/products/services.
Can anybody help me out with this very complicated matter ? Would
appreciate that very much. Thanks in advance !

Dick Detering.

Diederik,

First of all, many results do not imply, unfortunately, that there are
many businesses who sell that specific product. There could be a
product that is sought after (specific rare books, films, etc. - for
example), and many people ask about it in sites or mention it; but is
very difficult to find.

As you probably know, if something has vitually no competition, it
might also mean that this object is not especially sought after.

In my opinion, you have to change the way you approach the problem.
Choose things that have any connection to your site, to your
interests, or even very popular items, and learn how to improve your
position in Google. The problem, in other words, is not in choosing
the product and using inappropriate keywords, only because they are
popular in searches would hardly bring you any new clients (as well as
might ban you from Google, as it is against their policies).

How to improve your position in Google and/or get more people to click
your affiliate links? There are several ways. Browse answers
previously given on Google Answers on the question of Google Index
ranking; on the effectiveness of AdWords (in my opinion); and general
advices to Web Masters on how to improve the click rate in their site.
Browsing Google Answers is free of charge, and could probably answer
many of your questions. If you'l have any questions afterwards, I (or
my colleagues) would be always there for you.

Good luck with your business!
