At first look, there appear to be about 10 ski resorts in Wisconsin
within a four-hour drive of Chicago (depending on your starting point
in the Chicago area). Although there may be another one or two that
are not listed with the reputable source of information on ski resorts
nationwide that I have found, the list is likely to be virtually
complete, especially because the number of downhill skiing and
snowboarding destinations in Wisconsin is limited because of its
relatively unfavorable topography.

I could give you a link to each of these ten resorts from this single
source that features detailed information about it, including customer
reviews, lift-ticket prices, driving directions and much more.
Although the availability of snowboarding lessons and children's
programs are two of the items on which basic information ("yes" or
"no") is provided, details on such things as lesson prices and
availabilities on the dates you want would have to be obtained by
contacting each resort directly. (Contact information for each is
provided at the site.)

If the information I have described would be completely satisfactory,
I would be happy to post it as an answer to your question. If you are
looking for more or different information, a clarification to that
effect would help researchers to focus their research.

Hello andrewrosa-ga:

It was a pleasure to answer this question. I am providing you the
names of some of the resorts that provide snowboarding lessons and fit
your requirements. Also included are ski schools in various Mountain
ski areas. All of these are within 4 hours drive of Chicago (most
within two hours). Only one of these is about four and half hour
drive.

Some of the ski schools provide snowboarding lessons to kids 6 years
and older while others have different age restrictions. Although,
there are various resorts that will teach younger kids. You can check

schools individually.
