The Queen popped by earlier today for a quick coffee and a chinwag, as is her wont. She asked me what I thought about her New Year?s Honours List. I responded by sticking two fingers down my throat and pretending to be sick. I think that she was somewhat offended but she responded graciously enough. ?OK, so throw me a couple of names then and I?ll do a special ?? As most folks know, Queenie is a huge fan of GA (although her handle is, of course, secret) so I suggested that she should create a new title of Knight (or Dame) Commander of the GA Empire (KCG or DCG). She jumped at it and suggested that the following be so honoured: Answerfinder Easterangel Feilong Jem Journalist Pinkfreud Politicalguru Vinsvixen2 ?What do you think?? she asks me. I sang, ?There is nothing like a Dame? But then, more seriously, I said ?Why not ask the experts for their opinion.? Well? |

Dear Sir Bryan, Please tell Q.E. that I shall not accept the title of Dame unless my dear friend Scriptor is similarly honoured with a knighthood. "Sir Scriptor" sounds very good to me. He is, at heart, a Knight in the best classic, chivalric sense. ~Her Pinkness |

Now that Arthur C. Clarke and Mick Jagger have been knighted, it appears that just about anyone rates a knighthood. Now...if the old bird starting handing out checks, "that" would be something to work toward! tutuzdad-ga |

The nearest I will every get to becoming a Dame is appearing in a Panto as 'Widow Twanky' at a re-built Palace Pier Theatre, Brighton. http://www.andreas-praefcke.de/carthalia/uk/uk_brighton_palacepier.htm http://www.theheritagetrail.co.uk/piers/brighton%20palace%20pier.htm answerfinder-ga |

I hear "Her Royal Highness" is actually "a major reptilian gene carrier" who is a "shape-shifting reptilian", according to (not soon to be knighted), Mr David Icke. ( http://www.bridgeoflove.com/bookstore/bol/bigsec-ex.html ) As I'm not on the New Year's Honours list, I'm not at all concerned. |

Bryan, I second Pinkfreud's nomination of Scriptor. Please tell Her Majesty respectfully, for me, that this is her opportunity to make up for ignoring my advice the last time I offered her some. Apteryx |

Hi! I really feel honored receiving such a recognition! But I felt no recognition in GA will be complete if we don't remember the "24 hours" question answered by Missy-ga! This is one of the best answers for the year or even yet in the history of GA! http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=186507 |

Dear Bryan, Being named in the list is enough recognition for me. For me, there are a lot of my colleagues who really deserve to be knighted. Thank you and please give my regards to Her Majesty. :) Simply Feilong |

This seems to leave out a few people who I can think of off the top of my head, and if I leave anyone out, it's the shortcomings of my brain and it's abilities, and not your talents or personality. Juggler Tutuzdad Bobbie7 Robertskelton Scriptor Missy I think that list covers some of the most frequent question answerers, and the people who I enjoy reading the answers of (with your list included of course). |
