For 2003 what are the homicide rates for selected Caribbean countries?
By rates I mean the total for the country and the count per 100 000.
The countries I am interested in are:
Bahamas
Bermuda
Costa Rica
Cuba
Dominican Republic
Jamaica

The most recent, comprehensive data seems to be a United Nations
report from December 2002 that reports data for individual countries
for 1998, 1999 and 2000.

There are about 86 countries included in the report, including Costa
Rica, Dominican Republic and Jamaica. The report can be seen at:

http://www.unodc.org/pdf/crime/seventh_survey/7sc.pdf

I don't think you're likely to find data very much more recent that
this (it takes a long while to compile these types of international
surveys), and you may not find anything at all for some of the
countries you asked about.

Let me know if the UN report is useful to you, at all.

Pafalafa,
It is a little stale, covering thru 2000 and does not include Bahamas,
Bermuda or Cuba.
Is there anything else?

Not that I'm aware of. But I'm sure other researchers are having a
look, and I'll continue to look as well. If something pops up, I'm
sure you'll hear from us.
