Greetings Clemiedoll:
I'm not familiar with this type of equipment or craft investment so I
don't know how much help my suggestions will be but, for the record,
here they are:
[What I Would Do If I Had This Equipment]
INVESTING TIME:
Before I paid for an ad in a doll magazine or another dollmaker's
source (or local paper), I would research all doll making message
boards or groups on the Internet, join each, and politely inquire
there if anyone there would be interested in the equipment. I'd also
do some searches for other porcelain doll makers on the Internet, note
their emails and then contact them by email with a brief and cordial
letter explaining why I was contacting them.
Dear [Dollmaker]:
"We have been making porcelain dolls from our home but my wife is
unable to make them now because of her health. We have 64 doll molds
-some never used; and we have many yards of different fabrics; plus
doll wigs; shoes; doll eyes; sock; and two kilns. Also tools for
making porcelain dolls; we have about16 gallon of seeley,s porcelain
sliip, and a drain table"
Would you, or do you know of anyone who might, be interested in
purchasing our equipment? If so, please contact me. I appreciate
your assistance and thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
MOVING ON TO INVESTING ASVERTISING MONEY:
If this is costly equipment, then my next step (if I found no one
interested in the equipment on the message boards) would be to
purchase a domain name (about $10 a year) and a 6 to 12 month web
hosting package ($30 to $60 a year) and make a web page with pictures
of the equipment and asking price, etc.
If I had no activity in six months, I might contact a doll magazine
then and buy a short ad: "FOR SALE: Porcelain Doll Making Equipment -
parts; accessories, $XXXX See www.dollsale.com for photos and info."
I hope a Researcher who has experience in this craft will be able to
give you a definitive answer. If not, then I hope my comments will be
of assistance.
Best regards,
