Top o' the mornin' to you, Martin! The Britney/NASCAR co-branding seemed rather peculiar, yet still a clever marketing ploy, so I'm glad you found it useful. Haven't had much time to devote to further investigation on this question. however, there was a merger in 2000 that had an underwear-outerwear connection -- VFC (Vanity Fair Corp.) and The North Face. VFC also forged ahead to acquire the Nautica brand in 2003. http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m4PRN/2000_June_12/62663977/p1/article.jhtml http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m0EIN/2003_August_18/106673589/p1/article.jhtml I hope you have enough solid branding examples to cover this query, but I'm looking forward to many more of your interesting questions! Best wishes, V |
