I live in the Atlanta area and would like to know where I can find an
odometer for a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD. 4x4. My odometer has
stopped working, and it is costing a fortune to get a new one from the
dealer.

Try http://www.car-part.com (or search on "used car parts" for other
sites) look for you make,model, year and part (I think you want to
look for speedometer or instrument panel), there's whole list of
mileages to pick from ;-)

There are several sources for a used speedometer assembly, the closest
of which is listed first below.  I found these junk yard locations on
the following websites:

You can experiment with different zip codes than the one I tried
(30303).    There are also sites that will email you a response to
your parts query:

Also, check your local laws regarding replacements of odometers.  My
state (CA) requires 1) the new odometer to read the same number as the
old one; or 2) documentation stating the original mileage to be
attached to the door frame.
