Hi alan!
A few questions...
1. Since this research will take a long time because of the individual
requirements... what is the most reasonable time frame do you require
for an answer? I estimate a few days will be needed to complete this
research.
2. In some sectors and in some statistics the figures are not yet
complete for 2003 since the year has just passed. Would earlier
quarters supplied with figures from the previous year be ok?
3. If there are no 2003 stats for a particular industry (ex.
agriculture) since a survey and analysis has not been made yet, would
previous years like 2002, 2001 or year 2000 surveys be ok as well?
4. Furthermore if quarterly reports are not found for some figures
will this still be ok?
5. Some of the components of the research like the "political
analysis" part does not lend itself to quarterly reports. Would a
summary or an article discussing such components for 2003 be ok as
well. Would 2002 articles also be ok since the years are quite close
to each other?
Thanks!

Hi easterangel-ga,
In answer to each of your queries on further clarification;
1. Yes, I realise that this research will take some time because of all the
requirements so would it be possible for you to have your research
completed and this question answered Monday night or Tuesday morning
(PST)? I would definitely need this answer before Tuesday evening
(GMT). Is this feasible for you?
2. Yes, statistics for certain sectors from earlier quarters supplied
with figures from the previous year would be ok as long as they are
supplied on a quarterly basis over the time period of one year but
please make it as current as is possible, thanks.
3. As stated above, if there are no 2003 stats for a particular industry (ex.
agriculture), previous years or quarters over the time period of one
year will be ok as long as this whole question is answered in the same
time frame, as current as is possible, thanks.
4. Yes, if quarterly reports are not found for some figures, this is fine.
5. Yes, a summary or an article discussing such components as
"political analysis" for 2003 would be ok as long as the summary is
provided within the same time-frame as the rest of the question which
should be as current as possible.
So, in summary, I would say that if you could provide the research and
analysis as outlined, as much as is possible on a quarterly basis over
a 1 year time-period (example: Q4 2002 to Q3 2003 which would be
ideal), then this is fine. Naturally, any information which is too old
would not be relevant for my analysis but comparisons can be made to
other years (example: comparisons of GDP performance to other years).
Also, can you reference where possible so that I can verify information?
I appreciate your efforts in attempting to answer my question and so,
if you have other questions or need further clarification, please
don't hesitate to contact me at your earliest convience please.
Please let me know if the time frame to answer this question is
feasible or perhaps it can be answered earlier and that I can
definitely rely on this question being answered?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Alan.

Hi Alan!
In my perception, the time frame that you set is fair and realistic. I
am now in the process of gathering the necessary information you
require. If I cannot find all the elements, I will not post an answer
so you won't be charged. Or I will post another clarification to see
if you will be satisfied with the things I have.
Thanks!

Hi easterangel-ga,
That sounds fair enough. I will check the postings for this as often
as I can and in the meantime, I will continue to work on the question
myself also but I'm assumming your analysis and research will be much
more beneficial to me.
Please do post another clarification if need be and I will decide from
there whether the answer is appropriate but I'm sure it will be.
Thanks in advance for all your efforts and help.
Cheers,
Alan.

Hi allan!
I have started wading through the information that could be an answer
to your question. But this time I have other queries.
1. You said in your latest clarification "but I'm assumming your
analysis and research will be much more beneficial to me". Does this
mean that I should be the one to analyze such figures? Or would
analysis from reports and articles I gathered be ok as well?
2. Another thing that bothers me is that you've said you have already
been to statistics.gov.uk. You also said that you only found bits and
pieces. If I assembled the bits and pieces for you, will that be ok as
well. I have found a great majority of the answer to number #1 on that
website. Would the reports and analysis there be ok?
Thanks!

In the meantime I will unlock this question so that another researcher
maybe able to get a crack at it and might have a faster response for
you. Once I get back at my desk I will try to answer the question.
Thanks!

Hi easterangel-ga,
1. No you certainly do not have to analyze such figures. Analysis from
reports and articles which you have gathered will be ok.
2. Yea, it would be fine if you assemble the bits and pieces for me as
long as the information obtained is summarised as I don't want to be
piecing through mounds of regurgated reports. The reports and analysis
on them sites are ok as long as this whole answer doesn't end up being
more than 5000 words.
Cheers,
Alan.
