I BIDF ON OIL PAINTINGS....$1 EACH...DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION UNTIL I HAD
TO PAY AND THEY CHARGED ME TWENTY DOLLARS SHIPPING AND HANDLING ON
EACH ONE...I BOUGHT 30 THINKING I HAD A DEAL. ONLY HALF HAVE COME IN
SO FAR EVEN THOUGH I'VE PAID FOR ALL OF THEM. THE PAINTINGS WERE
STILL WET WHEN I GOT THEM. MANY WERE DUPLICATES. THEN I WAS BANGED
AROUND BY THEM TRYING TO SELL ME ON LETTING THEM STRETCH THE PAINTINGS
FOR ANOTHER TWENTY BUCKS EACH AND THEN ANOTHER HUNDRED TO FRAME
THEM....YOU KNOW WHAT THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE WERE SELLING THE
PAINTINGS..."READY TO HANG"....CAN YOU B EAT THAT...I ASSUMED I WAS
GETTING A DEAL ON READY TO HANG ORIGINGAL SIGNED OIL PAINTINGS...WHAT
I GOT WAS COMPUTER DRAWN, WET, PAINTINGS THAT RETAIL FOR $15 IN AN
ATLANTA ART GALLERY.....THIS ISN'T THE ONLY THING...I DON'T THINK THE
NATION IS AWARE THAT EBAY IS JUST A FORUMFOR CROOKS TO BEAT OTHER
PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR MONEY...

There are some crooks on ebay, that's for sure, but crooks are everywhere.

Me? I am not a BIG ebay user but all the deals I've done (all as a
buyer) have been from excellent to OK.

I haven't experienced any crooks but, on the two occasions where I've
been suspicious, I've asked the sellers if they would do escrow - with
me paying the costs.

Each time, I got no response, so I didn't bid.

There are mechanisms (which are not perfect) to help buyers and
sellers suss each other out before finalising a deal.
