Hi bigjosh,

The best and most reliable source for finding recent real estate
transactions in New York City is through the New York Times.

http://realestate.nytimes.com/recentsales/searchindex.asp

Enter your criteria in the following categories:

State: Connecticutt, New Jersey or New York
Region
Price range
Year: 2000, 2001, 2002, or 2003

For example, entering Manhattan, New York with a price range of
$300,000 to $600,000 in the year 2003 returns 82 results.

The results listed (which are resortable) include:
Date of sale
Location
Beds
Sold Price
Time on Market
Brokers

Another searchable database is Yahoo Real Estate.
http://realestate.yahoo.com/re/homevalues/

?Access millions of public real estate records instantly! This
comparable sales data helps you analyze the value of your home or
other homes in seconds. Results include price, square footage,
bedrooms, and year built (where available). You can also get a custom
home valuation from a top-performing local REALTORŪ!?

Search criteria:
?recent transactions? OR ?recent sales? ?real estate? ?new york city?
search ?recent sales? ?real estate? ?new york city?
search ?by address? ?recent sales? ?new york city?
?by address? ?recent sales? ?new york city?

I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions regarding my answer,
or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask before
rating. I will do my best to help you.

Best wishes,

While both these sites are interesting, neither has the trasaction I
was looking for (245 Water Street, NYC, 10038).

I know that real-estate transactions are a matter of public record, so
there must be a way to find them.

Thanks.

Hi bigjosh,

Thank you for your clarification.

Am I correct in assuming this is commercial real estate? If this is
the case, the information available is limited if not impossible to
find. I will, however, keep searching and will let you know of my
progress as soon as possible.

Regards,
rainbow~

http://www.radcribs.com/

They seemed to have all the ones I was looking for and the service
seems to be free and easy to use.
