I'm looking for an ultraviolet air purifier. I am leaning towards the Calutech Blue at http://www.calutech.com/spec.htm but would like to know if there are drawbacks or dangers to having a UV air purifier in your home since it creates radiation, or does it? Thanks. |

I would not be concerned about the safety of this type of device; many hospitals use UV air purifiers. Surely if there were any significant health risks, a hospital would not want to expose its patients and personnel to such dangers. The device does indeed create radiation. But so do light bulbs or television sets. |

Be careful as most uv air purifier emit some ozone, which the EPA has deemed unsafe. The only uv air purifiers that I have found that produce no ozone is the Second Wind Air Purifiers at http://www.BreatheMoreEasily.com |
