Coachella Valley Preserve--east of Palm Springs, Calif.

I read that there is a trail along the San Andreas fault that might be
nice to hike. It is east of Palm Springs, in the Coachella Valley and
is called the Coachella Valley Preserve. I would like to know
something about the trailhead, its location, and whether the public is
invited to hike there.
