What I would like is a button on the tool bar that you can click.
That: 1. Exports the current viewed contact (one only) to a merge
file. 2. Calls a ms word document and then prints a mailing label.

Yes and no. Firstly,I do not have Tools | Mail merge on my outlook!!
(Outlook 2000 9.0.0.2711).

What I need is a single click solution. Me and my techy colleauges
have a long winded solution. What I need is the scripts / macro for
the full solution. Nothing short of that is acceptable really. I have
to give this to around 10 none tech people. The reason we are doing
this is that we are/want to move a small but freqently used database
in to Outlook. In the current database solution, there is a single
click to label facility, and I don't want to lose it. I don't mind
upgrading/reinstalling outlook if that proves necessary.

Thanks for the prompt respsonse.
Regards
Westy

Hello, westy:
Ok, but the question here is that Outlook XP already has that mail
merge facility, so a simple upgrade from Outlook 2000 to Outlook XP
would be enough.

Regarding the single click solution, this is almost a single step
solution, once you setup the default options, it's just a matter of
two/three clicks.

Is upgrading to Outlook XP an option? If not and you want a custom
software made for you, just tell me.

Regards.

No. Going to XP is not really an option. Also, I believe that a
scripted solution will give me a basis to tweak for other similar
needs that we have. Can I just confirm that any one click answer will
be code that we could modify ourselves in necessary.

Thanks.

Hello, westy:
If you need a script, that is, someone to develop a script for you
to get that, I suggest you to take a look at RentACoder:

http://www.rentacoder.com

Or maybe post a different question specifying that you want a "custom"
software developed for you.

I'm not able to write such software.

Regards.

If you are using a db is it an outlook db or are you going to convert
it for yourself and several users?

Would taking advantage of a group lising with a macro button be of any help?

Not outlook db at the moment. Importing with not be a problem. Not
sure how a group lising could help us. In short, just to repeat, what
we need is the one click solution.
