Hello all, I have read, in a number of places, that gas ovens with a fan (to distribute the heat, such as in electric fan ovens) exist. I have searched the web, and haven't been able to find one. Can you find me one (or more)? Specifically: a 60 or 70 cm high, built in oven, powered by gas, with a fan to distribute the heat. Stainless steel finish ideal. Available in the UK, and built to UK specificatoin (I don't know if there are others, but just in case.) More than a couple gets a tip. Thanks, JM | |

The two ovens are both in the Stoves Rotostar range. You can find details by going here: http://www.stoves.co.uk/help_me_choose/help_frameset.htm and selecting: Product type: Built in ovens and Fuel Type: Gas When you click on "show me more" under the Premier 600GRa and 720GRa, you'll find that both come in stainless steel (run mouse over little boxes at top left), and you'll also find a link to this information about Rotostar ovens: "Rotostar is a revolutionary gas burner head developed to produce an even heat distribution, whilst retaining the moist conditions of a gas oven. Unique technology places the burner head within a fan - which rotates at high speed like a catherine wheel - in the back of the oven to deliver a combination of radiant and convected heat." The other fan-assisted gas ovens I found were in large freestanding cookers. There are some false leads on shopping sites where built-in ovens are described as fan-assisted, but the manufacturers' own information is different. The lowest price I found for the smaller Rotostar oven was £639: http://www.direct-electricals.co.uk/stoves_600gra_single_gas_oven.htm The only other possibility is a De Dietrich oven, in black, but I couldn't find information about it on the manufacturer's own site: De Dietrich UGC 402 Gas catalytic oven 3 cooking functions Bottom Element Grill Bottom Element Plus Fan http://www.electric-shop.co.uk/details.cfm/ID/12703 De Dietrich website: http://www.dedietrich.co.uk Some shops suggest Electrolux Cycloheat gas ovens are fan-assisted, but this is misleading, as far as I can tell: http://www.electrolux.co.uk/ After seeing how unhelpful the search results wth obvious terms (e.g. gas fan oven) were, I remembered that UK oven manufacturers like to give their "cooking systems" special names. This search was useful: gas fanned oven "cooking system" ://www.google.co.uk/search?q=gas+fanned+oven+%22cooking+system%22&hl=en&lr=&cr=countryUK|countryGB&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=0&sa=N Hope one of these ovens will suit you! Best wishes - Leli |

You need to be searching for "fan assisted ovens", they are electric and are widely available throughout the UK. I am in the UK and used to work for Powerhouse and Curry's. Creda, Leisure, Cannon, Bosch, Tricity, Parkinson Cowan, Eletrolux, and mnay more make the models. I am not an asnwerer so can;t help further, but try that search term Cheers, tuneman?©® |

Hi jeremymiles, Built-in gas ovens with "fan heating" (as opposed to convection heating) do exist in the UK - here is one. However, it is 89 cm high.
