I need simple qualitative tests for BROMATE and IODATE. I know both
methods calls for use of KI now does the use of  either HCL or H2SO4
distinguishes the two halides? if so how. In particular I need a
qualitative simple method for just Br04 I have a qualitative  method
for both Br04 and I04 USING HCL and KI solutions

Is this question still being asked? If, there is a simple qualitative
test to identify bromate presence in iodate.
