Is there a way to change the "Distance Fade" setting across EAX games?
Battlefield 1942 in particular, sound FX such as bullet ricochets lose
volume too quickly for their in-game distance (ie a hit striking metal
may be loud at one metre but almost inaudible at three. Firefights
just dont have the feel of a big conflict).
I run WinXP Pro SP1 on a P4 2.4Ghz, soundcard is a Creative SBLive! Value PCI.
BF1942 is at version 1.5, DirectX 9 and latest sblive drivers (5/1/03).

I'll compensate your time if the research was difficult - $10? More if trickier.
