What is the most expensive simple product that exists? A good example would be Gold, however I?m looking for something that could be bought and sold successfully over the internet via mail order (something small and light?) with no major problems such as servicing, guarantees, breakdowns. Basically once sold gone forever, it must not date nor must it just be a fad. Suggestions please? |

My vote would be jewelry - however keep in mind that although a product may be expensive and easy to ship, fewer people are likely to want to buy it online. Expensive items usually require a "hands-on" inspection :) answerguru-ga |

Good answer. However I'm looking for something more simple with a wider market. Something that everyone could want, a one product suits all sort of thing. Something that comes in one colour, one size or one format only. But something with a high profit margin. |

I'm guessing here, but a Soviet submarine's probably the most expensive thing I've seen for sale on the net. It was up for auction, so I don't know what the price was, but towing was a quarter million+++ to an east-coast port (USA). http://web.archive.org/web/20000301011103/http://subexpo.com/ There is contact info, so you may consider contacting these people for some idea of what the sale price may have been. -Haversian |

Not, perhaps, "one size fits all". But it certianly comes in only one size, one color, and one format! Otherwise, I'm thinking art. You might browse Christie's auction house ( http://www.christies.com/home_page/home_page.asp ). -Haversian |
