Hi applegal,

The translation of "et si ostendo non Jacto" is "To Lead is not to Boast".

I located this on the Ogden Family Coat of Arms.

Ace: Larry Ogden

I doubled checked the translation using Brian Baugh's Latin Translator.

Ostendo has the following meanings:
show; reveal; make clear, point out, display, exhibit;

Jacto can mean:
throw away, throw out, throw, jerk about; disturb; boast, discuss

Search criteria:

et si ostendo non Jacto
"latin to english" translation OR dictionary
"latin to english" online translation

I hope the information provided is helpful. If you have any questions

Translation is literally: "And if I/one demonstrate(s)/show(s) etc,
[then] I/one do(es) not boast" the translation offered was neglecting
et (and), and si (if), they seem to be pertinent. CIF put up or shut
up.
