It isn't possible to provide any directions or advice without knowing
the name of the service the usernames are associated with.

Is it an online banking account?
An email service like Hotmail?
A forum?
A B2B service?
Usenet?
ICQ?

Yes, it was excellent advice for you to have been advised to provide
the rest of the e-mail name (whatever comes after the @ sign), if you
know what it is. But you should also be talking directly first to the
police and then to the bank and not just wait for the results of your
own investigation. YOU don't necessarily have to find out the
identities of these people, but most police departments have a
computer expert on staff to help people with similar situations as
yours where it can be proven that a crime has been committed, and that
expert can work with the bank to get your case solved.

SINCERELY,
