I am having a terrible problem saving FrontPage2002 pages to my
website! Most of the time, there isn't much of a problem with small
pages that require little updating. But my index page, which is about
43KB large, is a different story. I'll open it, do a little editing
and then try to save it. The computer looks like it's trying to save
the page but it winds up returning the error message that the
conection was "unexpected closed by server." This is FALSE--because if
immediately try to save the page again under a different name
(something as simple as index2.htm, for example), BOOM! It saves it
quickly and without delay. Note: when the failed save is in progress,
the status bar always has something like this:

"C:\DOCUME~1\GEORGE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\FrontPageTempDir\wpe302.tmp..."

and I have noticed that during a successful save, the status bar
usually says "Requesting Data..." although not always. What's the
problem here?

Are you sure that your hosting provider has extensions for Frontpage
2002 installed? There may be problems if they have older server
extensions.

Additional notes for clarification:

(1) My service provider does allow FrontPage extensions, and there's
been no problem generally when uploading via FTP (rather than through
FP).

2)I've already tried unistalling FP and clean-installing it again.
Doesn't solve the problem.

Hello,
This may sound extreme, but may be the answer. Back up all your files
and uninstall Frontpage, then reinstall.
Just a friendly comment.
Good luck
