I'm trying to find the "Far Side" cartoon that depicts a group of
cheetahs or leopards eating a recent kill, and one of them is standing
up with a camera and taking a picture of the others. A second cheetah
looks up at her and says "Doris, every time we get together you've got
to drag out that thing!"

I've sent an email to a collector who states they have an
index/description of over 3700 Far Side cartoons. I'll let you know
when I have a reply.

Answerfinder, thanks. Will await further word from you.

I know that Larson is very sensitive to anything that smacks of
copyright infringement.

Hello nautico,

If you search on Amazon.com for "you gotta drag", you'll see that the
phrase shows up on page 81 of "It Came From The Far Side", a
collection of Far Side cartoons by Gary Larson from 1986.

'All results for: "you gotta drag"'
Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index%3Daps%26field-keywords%3D%252522you%252520gotta%252520drag%252522%26store-name%3Dall-product-search/002-8438905-1469658

If you have an account with Amazon.com, you can view the page. The
full text is: "'For crying out loud, Doris. ... You gotta drag that
thing out *every* time we all get together?'"

If you do not have an account with Amazon.com, you can still view the
page by looking in the actual book, which is available in various
bookstores and libraries.

You may be aware of this already, but a complete collection of "The
Far Side" was published recently (2 volumes, hardback, ~$100 depending
on the sale) which includes about 1,000 cartoons not previously
collected in books. Not cheap, but well worth it for a die-hard Far
Side fan! (I bought one)

Yes, I looked through that beautiful two-volume set shortly before Christmas.
