Hi. I need to serve MBNA America with legal papers. They are
incorporated in Delaware (surprise, surprise). So far, I have an
address and full name: MBNA America Bank (Delaware), 1100 North King
St., Wilmington, Delaware, 19884. I need to know what the rules are
in Delaware for serving this corporation. Do I need a name of a
person in the legal department? Is the information I have enough?

Hello.

First of all, I must note that Google Answers does not provide
professional legal advice. If you need professional legal advice, you
should contact a qualified attorney.

-----------

I just called MBNA (1-800-362-6255). I indicated that I needed to
know who to serve process on there. The operator connected me to a
second operator who connected me to recording devoted to this exact
subject of serving them with summons, subpoenas, etc. (I guess this is
such a common question that they've created a recording to answer it).

Anyway, the recording specifies exactly the same address that you
mentioned above. The only other thing that you need is: "Attention:
Custodian of Records."

--------

Out of curiosity, after I got of the phone, I did a Google search of
"MBNA" and "Custodian of Records"

I notice that this same format is mentioned on the web page of a man
who was in some of sort of legal difficulty involving MBNA and wrote
to them concerning a summons:

MBNA
Attn: Custodian of Records
1100 King Street
Wilmington, Delaware 19884

-------------------

Also, if you need the services of a professional process server in
Delaware, findlaw.com has a directory at:
http://marketcenter.findlaw.com/scripts/browse/6/385/385/DE

-------------------

search strategy:
called mbna

I hope this helps.

Sorry for that typo:

Juggler - thanks for the great answer (think you've helped me before!).

If you can provide me with the number for the "second operator who
connected me to recording devoted" and what I should ask this second
operated, that would finish the question.

I appreciate your help.

Hi.

I'm not sure of the number of the second operator because I was
connected directly, but I called them back and was able to determine
how you can get directly to the recording. The recording is at
extension #20046.

Call:
1-800-441-7048
Enter extension: 20046

Good luck!

Hi Bootsy,

After listening to the recording again, I noticed that they mentioned
"sending a subpoena" but not other legal papers per se.

I called them back at 1-800-441-7048 and asked to speak with someone
in the legal department. They connected to me to another person who
actually wasn't in the legal department but was somewhat helpful. I
asked her if there was a particular address not for subpoenas
specifically but for service of process, etc.. She said that you
could send them to this address:

MBNA America Bank
