Where are the memory slots on an Advent 6470 lap top, and if under the
keyboard, how does the keyboard remove?

Check out www.crucial.com.  They have great info about how to upgrade
memory and whatnot.

Maybe it is the same as the 6480:

"I've got an Advent 6480 laptop and have just installed 256M. The
memory slot is under the keyboard. You need to remove the panel just
above the keyboard. There is a catch on the right hand side. Once you
have removed the panel, you will be able to lift the keyboard up and
you should see the memory slot."

i have a ADVENT 6480 LAPTOP but i'm looking to upgrade it to 512ram as
its dead slow i end up with about 16mb sometiems.

Can you tell me where i could get this and what type of ram i need to
buy as i'm new to this. Different sources tell me differnet things and
i need to know in plain english, i'm from UK

Also my left speaker no longer works is there anyway of fixing this
myself as i dont have alot of money to spend upgrading this thing!
