bunny67-ga:

I am sorry to report that the vast majority of Pioneer DVD players
cannot be easily made multi-regional, also known as region-free.

For your specific model, the DV313, there is a known way to reprogram
it through a specially modified remote control. However, the only
companies offering this remote control are based in the United
Kingdom, and only offer this service for DVD players that are
currently set to Region 2 (Europe, Japan, Middle East, S. Africa). One
example of such a company is:

DVDCodes.net
http://www.dvdcodes.net/dvd%20region%20codes/dvd%20region%20codes%20p/pioneer%20models/pioneer_dvd_codes_make_your_dvd.htm

As you can see from that web page, the service they offer is the
rental of a one-time-use-only remote control which they have modified
with a special chip to transmit the correct reset codes. After you use
it, you are obligated to return the remote in the mail. If you wish,
you may contact them regarding the possibility of them selling you a
custom-modified remote control that would work with a Region 6 unit.
They can be contacted at:

e-mail: Sales@dvdcodes.net

If you are currently located in Region 6, the total cost of doing this
may well exceed the cost purchasing a new DVD player that can be
reprogrammed with less hassle.

Sorry that this isn't the good news that you were probably hoping for;
if you are willing to accept this as your Answer, simply let me know
via reply to this Clarification.

any better than what you had come across previously!
