MS Win 2K   Controller error on "\device\harddisk\dr3"  Can't open My
computer to Defragment....it just sits there and never opens. tex

Are you getting errors starting with 17?
Problems with hard disks are indicated by 17XX errors. The computer
more or less suggests booting from alternative diskette drive. Unless
you have old parts to substitute for the repairs, I would disconnect
the hard drive and boot from diskette for the time being until you
find the parts( being drive, controller and cable).Check your bios
settings to boot without the hard drive after disconnecting it.
