I want to read "The Cat in the Hat," online right now. I can't stand
all the advertisements. Can't anyone provide a search engine with
research info first, that we can obtain on line (whether we're charged
or not.) Then offer products for sell. When I state "READ ONLINE RIGHT
NOW "THE CAT IN THE HAT," why is it I only get book stores where I
could go purchase the book. As if it never occured to me I could
purchace a book in a bookstore! Or you list hundreds of places I can
purchase it online. Which doesn't do me much good RIGHT NOW. I guess I
could go sit out outside and wait for the mailman... Far easier and
quicker for me to go buy a book down the street at my local bookstore
and no one needs a search engine to be told that. CAN YOU PLEEEEEEASE
FIND ME HOW I CAN READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW?????!!!!!!!!!!

One reason why you're not finding what you want: this book is
protected by copyright. Any site that offers the full text for free
online is likely to encounter legal difficulties rather quickly.

I do not know whether or not there is an authorized e-book for sale.
Are you willing to pay a fee to be able to read "The Cat in the Hat"
online?

PLEASE READ THIS ACCURATELY, THIS SENTENCE WAS IN MY ORIGINAL NOTE:
Can't anyone provide a search engine with research info first, that we
can obtain on line (whether we're charged or not.) I ALREADY SAID
WHETHER WE'RE CHARGED OR NOT IN PARENTHESES!!! I AM NOT PAYING FOR
INEPT RESEARCH FROM NITWITS!!!!

I am sorry my request for clarification has disturbed you. Your
initial request seemed to me to imply that you wanted to be able to
read the full text of "The Cat in the Hat" online. I am still
uncertain what you want. Do you want an essay on search engines, and
why they sometimes do not return the desired results? Do you want an
e-book that can be purchased online, and read immediately?

If you will accept an online source that enables you to read a portion
of a book before you order the book, you may want to visit Amazon.com,
where a new feature called "Search Inside the Book" enables registered
Amazon users to browse through many books for free. You cannot read
the entire book in this fashion, but you can certainly get a good
sense of what the book is like.

Clarification of Question by lesismore-ga on 12 Jan 2004 16:43 PST
I am sorry I responded unkindly to your request for clarification. I
hate myself when I act this way! This is no excuse for my behavior,
however I become so frustrated when given just a choice of products to
buy. I don't need the internet to explain where I can go out and
purchase a book or even places I can order it online so UPS can
deliver it in 3 days. I will be more than happy to pay more for a book
I can print out on my computer if I want it at that moment. I spent
half the night trying to find such a place. I understand copyright and
believe I should have to pay for such a service. Since no such service
exists my anger is misdirected and unjust. Though I do request one
thing. When one requests to READ a book don't place information about
a movie Hollywood has made first on the list. Than you for patiently
listening to my rantings. Leslie Pool

lesismore,

I Really Enjoyed the Dr. seuss books as a child, and I spent WAY too
much time trying to get the text for you. It's not there. I checked
from several angles, as you will be able to tell from my search
strategy loisted at the bottom of this post. I even checked
underground sites, out of curiousity, I could not post a link to the
text if it was copyright infringed. Frankly, there's not much of a
demand for Dr. Seuss, whereas it's fairly easy to get game cheats,
should one want one. It's just not there, not by the publisher, not
at "Seussville,", nowhere that I could think of too look.

If it _is_ available from a legitimate source, it would be at one of
the 4 links below. I could not find it. You might think about
contacting these companies by phone and asking them for suggestions.

Hi again,

I forgot a search string:

"cat in the hat" ebook seuss download

I searched for an ebook first, and was unsucessful. Maybe pinkfreud
had better luck!

Perhaps lesismore, if you had produced your original question with the
structure and coherence one would expect from an educated person,
pinkfreud would not have had to ask for clarification or suggest that
copyright infringement was an issue.

No body expects you to pay for "INEPT RESEARCH FROM NITWITS!!!!",
which is why you were asked to clarify the question.

May I also suggest you cease the production of "negative remarks" such
as "Can't anyone provide a search engine with research info first,
that wecan obtain on line (whether we're charged or not.)"

If you had written "can anyone...", rather than "can't anyone", again
you may have had more luck.

I suggest before you go ahead and attempt to belittle a researcher,
who by the way was doing you a favour (at the price of $2?!?), you
ensure your original question is clear and actually written in a way
that does not require clarification....

I hope you manage to find "the cat in the hat" and manage to read the
full story online.

Regards,
Tuneman?©®

In case you are curious about how search engines rank the relevancy of
the pages that they list in response to search requests, there's a
simple explanation here, under the heading "Relevancy Rankings":

This article gives a basic description of how search engines work:

Leslie,

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a full online version of
"The Cat in the Hat" for you. Children's books like this one are
sometimes not available for download, since the demand is not as great
as is the case with books aimed at older audiences.

If the book exists online, it has managed to conceal itself from me.
Your question is still fully open for other Researchers to work on. I
hope someone will be able to track down an online Cat for you. It's a
hilarious book, well worth reading no matter what age you are.

Best wishes,
pinkfreud
