Hi chris_nyc,
Interesting question! The short answer is, no. If you use a web bases
e-mail service such as Hotmail, you may have noticed that upper-case
letters are automatically converted to lower-case in an e-mail
address. Generally speaking, e-mail addresses are not case sensitive,
but there are always exceptions! Exceptions may be an internal
intranet e-mail system, such as a buisness might use. Depending on
business software and protocols, you *may* find that e-mail addresses
are case sensitive. For ordinary individual e-mail that we send to
friends and family, lower case is most commonly used, but will send
using upper case as well.

Some information I found online about this topic:
"Addresses can use only letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), periods ("."),
and underscores ("_") and, like all email addresses, they are not
case-sensitive (e.g., "family@yourname.com" is the same as
"FaMily@yourname.com")."

"Email domain are explicitly and always case insensitive. The address
ducky@webfoot.com is exactly equivalent to ducky@WebFOOT.com.
The email specifications clearly state that email IDs are allowed to
be case sensitive. However, in practice email IDs are case insensitive
also. I've never seen an Internet Service Provider of any sort that
distinguished between upper- and lower-case letters in the email ID. "

Log Ons and passwords *may* be case sensitive, depending on the system
one is using, as seen on this site:
"No, email addresses are not case-sensitive. This means that any
combination of lower- and upper-case letters will work to access the
same email account. For example, Joe@Smith.Net is the same email
address as joe@smith.net."
