How do you go about selling a well-developed and researched topic for
television? We have an idea for a variety of things, most
particularly a documentary and a possible TV program. Can you give
us the easy steps and point us in the direction of resources?

Hello--

Would you mind focusing your question a bit more for me? You mention
having an idea for a documentary or a TV program. Can you give an idea
about the topic for us to point you in a good direction?

Also, are you wanting to produce, shoot, and create the documentary
and program yourselves, or are you looking for a company to do this
for you?

Further, are you interested in information at the network or local
level? Could you provide information about where specifically you were
wanting to target?

Thanks,

darrel-ga

Thank you so very much for your direction. Any additional insight you
can lend to the 'documentary' side of things?

There are two sources being used by production companies that are
seeking concepts and properties by means other than using Agents:
www.realityshowpitch.tv and www.tvwritersvault.com

They've got lots of good industry information and a protected platform
for writers pitching projects.

Hope that helps.
