we are a system integration company (15 staff) that specialises in
windows networking, with a lot of remote work, strong security and VPN
expertise.

I'm making resolutions for 2004 and wanted to see where smart
companies in our sector are heading. I spotted the geek squad model
www.geeksquad.com. It's an interesting angle on marketing, but our
target customer is corporate and longer term, geeksquad seem to have
nailed the branding, but their model appears to be ad hoc once off
fixes. Our current model is to act as a virtual IT department involved
in planning, long term contracts etc.

Can anyone point me at a resource to give me some ideas.

You could try this report for starters, web services appear to be a
big market for SIs that can explain their benefits to clients.

You might also try the report at www.marketresearch.com entitled
"Outlook for the 2004 Systems Integration Service Market: A Year of
Transition" for $500, published 12/18/2003.
