We are searching for a reputable licensed medical facility or hospital
in the United States or Canada, where physicians perform in-patient
medical detoxification or medically-induced comas in order for a
patient to withdraw from multiple legal prescription psychiatric drugs
given by her psychiatrists w/o incurring the dangerous and painful
side effects of withdrawal.
Subject suffers from severe mental illness, and long-term
administration of so many drugs that it is impossible to determine if
the drugs or the illness are the partial or total cause of many of the
patient's behaviors. Medical withdrawal must be followed by prudent
administration of medication if required to stabilize patient's new
state of health, i.e, behavior not affected by medication.
Patient has no motivation, esteem or common sense, hence the need for
inpatient treatment. Patient is not a drug addict per se, as the drugs
were all legally prescribed and administered, and no abuse has taken
place. For this reason, patient would not do well in a group of
addicts, or in addict-based programs.
Because of patient's mental illness, treatment would be different than
a detox program towards people who abuse legal or illegal drugs.
Jerry Lewis, the comedian was said to have gone through a weeks- long
medical coma to get him off prescription drugs, but a letter to his
manager was not answered, so the truth to this rumor is unknown.
Previous searches on the Internet have turned up many detox facilities
but none that deal w/ eliminating painful physical and mental side
effects of multiple drug withdrawal AND at the same time dealing w/ a
psychiatric patient who may manifest aberrant behavior such as
violence or suicidal attempts during withdrawal and subsequent
rehabilitation.
The goal is to clear patients' system of all drugs, then to have
patient be on the minimal medication needed to live life. |
