"The Political Graveyard" lists all reps from Alaska from 1957-2002
and no Carnahan is listed.

Could you be referring to Jean Carnahan perhaps; wife of the late
Senator Mel Carahan of Missouri? In 2001 Jean Carnahan was appointed
to fill her husband's office after his death in a plane crash in 2000
and she was subsequently defeated by election in 2002. Would this be
the same person you had in mind?

Are you referring to JB Carnahan on KIAK-FM in Fairbanks?  According
to one of these pages, he is a "Former Assembly Member".  But there is
no indication that he has died, unless the pages have not been updated
recently.
