I am in constant pain on my right breast area that wraps around and
down my back right side toward my spine. The pain feels like
electricity and I cannot bear touching by bedsheets, etc. It's
driving me nuts and depriving me of sleet. I am taking neurontin and
metformin and it ain't getting the job done.
Do you have any suggestion on any other thing that might help the pain and free me? |

Hi. I'm interested as to where exactly this pain is. Because you
described it as "wrapping around", I am reminded of the fact that the
skin is divided into discrete areas for collecting sensory
information, including pain. Does it seem to you that the pain is
localized to one or two of the "areas" in the diagram at [
http://www.fhma.com/images/dermatomes_2.jpg ] such as T4 or T5? (If
it is only on one side, that is fine.) Does the painful area curve in
that general way? If so, it could indicate a number of possible, but
more easily localized problems. Please let me know, thanks.

Actually, the fact that you're on neurontin practically answers that
question by itself, as well as some other things. Sorry I didn't
catch that before posting that last clarification. What do you know
about your current condition? I'm assuming you've seen a doctor
before about it...what did he/she say?

Visited doctor yesterday, ordered to take my neurontin, glyburide, and
metformin still. Additionally, added NAPROXEN twice every day and
RABEPRAZOLE 20 MG TABLET ONCE A DAY. The pain is in the area under my
brest on the right side and goes to my side under the right arm and at
times seemingly in a straight line down my right side like a rope of
pain. Wen I cough I getthe feeling of tearing flesh from my right side
chest and back. What I read the doctor is that I have to live with
it...no magic answers. If you have seen anything else better than
what I have, please advise.
Sincerely, Nathan Holt
