I'm writing a research paper on video news. I want to case study a
few vendors, including Cantos.com. But I can't find out anything
about them. Their site seems to lack any information about the
management, who owns them, what clients they work with, their pricing,
etc., etc.

Thanks,
Matt

Hello Matt. Good luck with your research project. The information
below should help.

From Financial News of May 21, 2001:

Cantos launches an online results service

"The new communications channel for corporates and institutional
investors has been developed by a newly formed company, Cantos
Communications. Backed by Cazenove, the UK broker, and Brunswick, a UK
financial communications group, the web-based service will initially
focus on European companies."

From yell.com, the address and phone number:

Cantos Communications Ltd
16, Lincoln's Inn Fields Holborn
London WC2A 3ED
Business Type: MULTIMEDIA SERVICES
 Tel: 020 7936 1333

From the Financial Times of London, July 3, 2001:

TITLE: The bosses' video Brunswick's Alan Parker and his sister Lucy
have a solution for chief execs tired of their message being filtered
through journalists - make your own programmes.

"What it is without the spin is PR TV. It is a video service for chief
executives. Rather than have their message filtered through
journalists or analysts, CEOs can have Cantos Communications, which is
part owned by Brunswick and Cazenove, the investment bank, make a
video of them or other senior staff addressing the main issues facing
the company. Cantos will give investors, analysts and journalists the
chance to see the CEO, with sleeves rolled up in his or her natural
habitat, telling it like it is - without interruption, distortion or
heckling. The video clip can then be distributed over the internet or
in tape form to people who want a piece of the average chief
executive, but get little or no "face-time". "

Also from the Financial Times article I cited:

"It has produced 12 paid-for "in depth videos" for eight clients,
including Invensys, the industrial group, and Safeway, Mothercare and
WH Smith, the retail groups. There are about 45 staff."

This was a year ago, so I'm sure their client list has grown since
then -- I think if you poke around on their web site, you'll see some
of the client names.

this is great. the only thing lacking is clients and revenue streams/pricing.

Hello,

I was going to post a similar comment to the one above - but almost
all of the information you can find at www.betterwhois.com is found
under the 'about us' section of the cantos.com website. What, exactly,
would a good answer give you that the whois info does not? (If any, if
you are satisfied with that, then I'm happy martins-ga was able to
supply you with it :)

You should check out www.brunswickgroup.com - they own (are) Cantos.

What is going on here, I answered this question first and more
accurately, who owns the domain cantos.com, yet the payment has been
made to another poster who has not even answered the question.

your answer wasn't what I was looking for...here's what I wanted:
"information about the management, who owns them, what clients they
work with, their pricing, etc"

You simply gave me the whois entry. And that information only offered
the name of a contact who controls the domain, not who owns the
company or any other information about the company.

Thanks for your entry, though.

Sincerely,
Matt
