I'm looking for a short (3-5) list of things/projects in Canada "they" said could never be done -- ideas that seemed so out of sight to the public, but which managed to get pulled off (like Confederation Bridge). They don't have to be current references. I'd also love one example of a big idea in Canada that failed miserably and would like to be pointed to audio of any of these examples -- such as a government official announcing the project, etc. |

Hi jhabley, Off the top of my head, the Canadian Firearms Registry is a prime example of a failed initiative - I believe the initial budget was $2 million and the current tab $300 million, not to mention that it really hasn't accomplished much. Emjay-ga |

jhabley-ga: The biggest thing that they said could not be done (yet was), was the building of the Canadian Pacific railway in the late 1800's. Technically delivered on-time, let's not talk about budget: http://www.cprheritage.com/history/display1.htm |
