What is the easiest, cheapest way to get listed with Google, Yahoo and the other top 5 search engines? I would like my web page to be in the top 5 of those listed when entering "Ask the doctor" "questions to ask your doctor" "what to ask the/your doctor", etc. THANKS! |

This was also listed in the "Sponsored Links" section when I came to this question (it may or may not be depending on the time you look at it), but I would also like to vouch for SelfPromotion.com (http://selfpromotion.com/) as an excellent source of both information and tools for promoting your site to all of the search engines and directories. All of the information and most of the tools are free, and for at least a $10 donation you receive the use of some extra tools as well. Other promotion techniques will certainly cost you either a lot of time or a lot of money. So in my opinion, following the advice on this site is the most overall easiest and cheapest way to achieve your goal. |

No one can promise you a top 5 listing in any search engine for those terms, and if you *are* promised that, you're getting taken. A search on Google for "ask the doctor" (without the quotation marks) produces 5,160,000 results. For questions to ask the doctor, about 3,270,000 results. "What to ask the doctor", about 5,130,000 results. The 'easiest and cheapest way' is to follow Google's Content Guidelines here: - ://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html And to become familiar with all of Google's information, then put it to use. There are a lot of fraudulent sites which may make promises, but the reliable search engine optimizers will tell you the three most important things are rich-text content, links to your site and more content. Everybody would like to be in the top 5 position for a search query ... those that are usually follow the good sense information offered by Google and other top search engine authorities on the Internet.
