Hi metaldetector,

Since detectors are a personal choice and depends on your location,
budget and what you're interested in finding (you mentioned coins), I
have listed three of the best detectors for finding coins for you to
choose from. This selection is based on reviews and personal opinions
by other detectorists.

I've been in the metal detecting hobby & industry for nearly 35 years.
Based on that experience, I would strongly encourage you first to
visit a local dealer if possible. If there's a treasure hunting club
in your area, get acquainted with them, too. Otherwise, check out the
forums at treasurenet.com and findmall.com and see what brands/models
others prefer for coinshooting. There's also a wealth of information
in Western & Eastern Treasures magazine. In addition to rainbow's
recommendation, remember that all of the major manufacturers-- Fisher,
Garrett, Tesoro, White's-- offer affordable, no-frills, entry-level
units with very good performance.

Best of luck,
Buckram
