I am about to purchase the Samsung i600 phone for use on the Verizon
Wireless Network. I want to sign up for their national calling plan
(free long distance) that includes 800 minutes of anytime voice
minutes, but I also want to be able to use the phone's data
capabilities in an unlimited manner without the minutes used counting
against my voice minutes. I saw such an option on their site, but
there is a potential complication... I also want to use the phone as a
wireless modem sometimes with my laptop and I want to be able to do
that in an unlimited fashion as well. Verizon appears to have an
unlimited data plan that is intended for that sort of use, but I am
confused as to whether I would need both the laptop data plan ($79.99)
*and* the phone data plan ($49.99), or if just getting the laptop one
will allow me to use unlimited data in both forms. If I buy the PC
5220 card that allows laptop access to the Broadband network, will
this also entitle my phone to use the same data plan (albeit at a
slower speed) as well, or do I need to purchase an additional plan
just for the phone? Lastly, I am aware that there are some cables and
chargers from Boxwave and some other companies that are cheaper than
the OEM ones, and I am wondering what kind of setup would be best for
me to use given my intended use situation described above. (What cable
to use the phone as the
wireless modem with my new Dell laptop, etc.) All of these answers are
probably available by speaking to a rep or just reading through some
online forums, but I am trying to save the time it would take me to
figure it out. Thanks in advance! |
