Nicola Chiaromonte born in Rime, Italy in 1905 ided in Rapolla, Italy
in 1972. He fled from France to New York in 1940 where he became a
writer and lived for about 20 years. Can you help me to find a more
detailed description of the events in Toulouse, France at the end of
August 1940, when trying to escape from France, his wife Anna
Chiaromonte nee Pohl died. |

Hi zipeter,
I'm not sure I understand exactly what it is you're looking for. Do
you want information specifically about Nicola Chiaromonte and his
wife, Anna Pohl, or are you interested in conditions and any events
occurring in Toulouse in August, 1940 that may have contributed to her
death, or both? The more specific you can be about exactly what
information you're seeking, the better a Researcher may be able to
help you find it.
Thanks,
Byrd

Hi Byrd,
thank you for request.
In fact I am trying to find out what caused Anna Chiaromonte Pohl's death.
I know from her aunt's diary that Anna died on the 28th of August,
1940 in Toulouse, France, trying to escape from the Gestapo. Anna was
Jewish and her husband a socialist, reasons to be hunted by the Nazis.
So far I haven't been able to find her death certificate or anything
else.
What happened to her and where might she be burried?
To find out what exactly happened around August 28, 1940 might of
course be very helpful.
Thank you,
Zipeter
