Please advise me of buying groups in optometry, pharmacy, veterinary,
medical centres, and dentistry in Australia.
These are groups in one of the retail health industries above which
group together to gain greater buying power for drugs, cosmetics,
medical supplies etc.

Hi, Becky10!

There are many references to buying groups within the medical industry
but I have not found any names or contact information. Are you seeking
actual names and contacts of buying groups? These contacts may be
proprietary information to members of various medical organizations.

I am finding information like the following:

"Dental Buying Groups - To Try Or Not To Try?

"The principle of becoming pro-active and negotiating best price deals
on a collective bargaining basis is well proven in many industries
(e.g. network groups etc.) The secret is to find the group that can
deliver sustained large scale bottom line savings."

"Historically many Australian dentists have tried to focus their
buying dollars to achieve a genuine cost saving. Some groups have
grown to over twenty dentists but all have folded within three to five
years. The consistent reason for their failure has been that the
"initiator " finished up doing all the work and eventually grew tired
of carrying the workload."

"The Australian Dental Industry is now seeing the rise of several
buying groups who profess to be able to offer genuine savings for
dentists. The market place will eventually sort out the best
performers - but how can you judge which is the right one for you?"

(unfortunately, the actual names of groups are not available)

(Unfortunately, I cannot find any further information or contact for
the National Dental Buying Group)

Please let us know exactly what you are seeking so a researcher can
try to locate the appropriate information.

Thanks!
